Lunch out at restaurant Komaki in Barrinha

 In Uncategorized

Every now and then we try to do a small trip as it’s nice to get out of Jericoacoara sometimes when there are so many other beautiful spots around to discover. Our mission this time was to have a lunch out in the neighbouring village of Barrinha, visiting the new restaurant of a friend!

The trip Jericoacoara – Barrinha

So we gathered together with friends and went with two buggys along the beach to Barrinha which is just after the famous kitesufing spot Préa. There is no direct paved street to Barrinha, your highway is the beach 😉

…and sometimes even the water.

When the tide is high, you might need to drive through water on the last stretch of the trip.

After a short foto session we continued our way to LAGOA da PINGUELA – yes Barrinha has its own lagoon! – to have a refreshing swim before lunch.

On our way we had some “emotional” driving as local buggy drivers like to say 🙂 we were driving down some very steep dunes and our adrenalin level was rocketing high!

We passed the village and went up some sand dunes to get the best view of Barrinha.

It’s a remote fishing village without any touristic development so far. Few foreigners live there, it’s mostly local families living a peaceful life.

It’s really beautiful because it’s so rural and quiet, yet so close to the movement of Jericoacoara and everything this coastline has to offer.

On the picture above you see Jericoacora in the back 🙂

The lunch in Barrinha

Restaurant KOMAKI and its very warm and welcoming team offer delicious fresh grilled fish, shrimps, lobster and chicken which is accompanied by side dishes such as rice, beans, salad, pumpkin purée etc. in a beautiful environment surrounded by the ocean and sand dunes.

Meet the charming owner Marcio who will gladly invite you for a chat and digestive cacahaca after your meal.

I would have loved to stay longer to see the sunset from Barrinha, but we had to rush back to Jeri 🙂 to get back to work.

Everybody had a great time, so we will come back for sure!
