Afternoon swell at Jericoacoara beach

Watersports in Jericoacoara

When it is high tide in the afternoon, it is great to hang out at the main beach of Jericoacoara or jump into the waves to enjoy one of many possible sports activities, such as surf, SUP, kajak or windsurf.

What I find so fascinating about it is that all ocean lovers gather together on one spot to enjoy all kinds of different watersports!

There is lots of movement and people do all different kinds of things:
kids like to play soccer at the beach; there is usually a group of locals playing beach volley in front of the Café / restaurant named Naturalmente who are always happy to find new buddies to play with.

In July and August there were also many families with kids enjoying their holidays here. Those who are not into watersports can also enjoy this beautiful stretch of Northeastern coastline to relax, have fresh grilled fish for lunch, go for a swim, admire the surfers, play beach tennis, beach volley or try to balance on the slackline. There is something for everyone!

Sunset in Jeri – and acai

My favourite spot for watching the sunset is at before mentioned restaurant Naturalmente! It is directly at the beach, serves delicious food such as crepes, salads and pasta dishes. In my opinion, they serve the best acai in the village because their cereal mix is homemade and very different from the other standard cereals you get in other places.
If I could, I would have an acai with banana and cereals there every day, but I am trying to restrict myself to just one, max 2, per week 😉 trying to keep it special!

Malhada beach – another hidden gem of Jericoacoara

Another great spot for watching the sunset is from the other beach “around the corner” called Malhada beach. There are a few beautiful bars and lounges which belong to Pousadas but are open for public also!

Nothing compares to enjoying a beautiful sunset in Jeri after a busy day in the Pousada – either being active in the ocean or just relaxing at the beach!!!

I feel very blessed to be here at this special corner of the earth and invite you all to discover its beauty for yourself!
