A sambaaar! Live music ‘n more in Jericoacoara
Dear friends,
today’s Pousada Atlantis blogpost is about the diverse offer of live music in the village of Jericoacoara and the beautiful feeling of just “following the music” when you have a night out.
In Jericoacoara, there is live music every night of the week, either in restaurants accompanying dinner or later at night in various open-air dance venues. The latter usually heats up only after midnight, whereas live music in bars and restaurants start at 9pm. So if you plan a night out with some live music, choose your restaurants and preferred places well!
Jericoacoara is not like other popular beach towns along the Brazilian coast with many electronic parties each night, but offers rather a mix of samba, forró, reggae, funk and MPB (musica popular brasileira) and sometimes rock as well as electronic music.
At the beach you will find live music even during the afternoon and especially around sunset hour!
Cultural Show & Capoeira at the beach
The general weekly program during this year’s season looks something like that:
Monday
* Mistura Fina at Espaco Serramar, in Rua da Igreja, playing samba de raiz and forró pé-de-serra. Start: 11pm
Tuesday
* Reggae with Cena Roots at Espaco Serramar, in Rua da Igreja. Start: 11pm
Wednesday
* Forró at Dona Amelia, in Rua do Forró. Start: 11pm
Thursday
* Mistura Fina at Espaco Serramar, in Rua da Igreja. Start: 11pm
* Forró at Maloca, in Rua da Igreja. Start: 11pm
Friday
* Samba da Bencao at Solar da Malhada, in Rua da Igreja. Start: 10:37pm
SAMBA DE PRIMEIRA!!! Without any doubt, the most beautiful show of the week 🙂
Saturday
* Forró at Dona Amelia, in Rua do Forró. Start: 11pm
Sunday
* Samba with Ricardinho at Tortuga Bar, in Rua Sao Francisco, Start: 9pm;
* Funk, Rock & MPB at Espaco Serramar, in Rua da Igreja. Start: 11pm
There is always live music at Zchopp Bar, Samba Rock or Tortuga, all places highly recommended for a visit 🙂
Besides the weekly program, every now and then there is some electronic party either at the beach of Jericoacoara close to the barracas (caipirinha stands) or even at Paradise Lagoon!
